The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
